Central America is an emerging region as far as technology and innovation are concerned. The 'Innovators Under 35' Awards, led by Opinno and MIT Technology Review, are the most prestigious international awards and will arrive in Central America for the first time to award youths whose disruptive talents are capable of creating innovative technology-based projects that propose solutions to global problems from a social point of view.

Over time, the TR35 community has been expanding; crossing borders and continents rewarding young innovators looking to change the world and the future with their projects. This convocation is the result of the calling to continue building a global network of innovators; reinforcing where there are already promotions for award-winners and expanding into countries where new regional editions like this one are held.

The nomination deadline for this convocation is next Friday, April 4th and the requirements to apply for these awards are quite obvious: the candidate must be from Central America, under 35 years of age and must have the desire to create a project that will serve as a solution to a major issue.

The categories of this contest are very broad, allowing the participation of projects from fields such as information technology, biotechnology, telecommunications, energy, materials, internet... and many more. Latin America is now the source of more than 100 young people who have dared to challenge innovation and technology and have joined forces.

With this, Central America joins the list of regions that recognize the efforts of their youth by rewarding them; recognizing their career path and their potential, putting them into the spotlight and  offering the prestige of being recognized by MIT Technology Review as innovative leaders their fields of work.
