816 leaders from the technological community from 13 countries attended the event organized by Opinno.

Celebrated on the 18th and 19th of June, EmTech is the most relevant technological event in the world. For the second time, the event was held at the Mexican headquarters in Santa Fe campus in the “Tecnológico de Monterrey” university.

With businessmen, investors, investigators, entrepreneurs and university students in attendance, there was a total of over eight hundred people at this edition of EmTech.

Eighteen different topics presented by thirty-eight experts graced the EmTech stage. It was these experts that became into the protagonists of the meet along with the ten prizes winners for the Under 35’s Innovators award.

Education, personalized medicine, energy, portable technology, technology transfer, robotics and new materials were some of the main topics to be presented.

Emtech

During the eight hours of expositions and networking, there was a press conference held in which representatives from the American and in Spanish edition of the MIT Technology Review talked about the importance of the event being held in Mexico. “It’s a strategic country, for its geographical position, the bridge between the USA and Latin America, and for the amount of talent it generates” assured the director of the Spanish edition, Pedro Moneo.

The Investment Forum Venture Point EmTech Mexico 2014, celebrated at the end of the conference, joined together ten Mexican technology based startups selected by an expert jury, for the presentation of the their projects in front of thirty capital risk investors.

Online, more than forty countries and 3,600 people followed the event via streaming. On social networks, the official hashtag #emtechMX generated over 4,500 tweets during the two day celebration and was a national “trend” on Twitter.

The positive balance of this second edition of the technologic and innovative meet in Mexico has, without doubt, set the bar high for future editions of the event.
