After the EmTech Colombia experience in Medellin, Opinno lands in Mexico City to host the first edition of Emerging Technologies in Mexico. The event will take place on May 29 and 30th at the Tecnologico de Monterrey, Santa Fe Campus, Mexico City, with the collaboration of ProMéxico and Pemex.

Mexico is the sixth country where the conference has taken place, which will have an audience of 600 people made ​​up of businessmen, investors, entrepreneurs, researchers, scientists and academics. This meeting will discuss Mexican competitiveness clusters, the country’s business prospects and its ability to build business from the technological and innovative approaches worldwide.

During the event, in which BBVA Bancomer, Philips and IBM also participate, will address the challenges of smart cities (smart cities), innovation in medicine, materials of the future, education, the future of the Internet, entrepreneurial ecosystems and opportunities of the investment landscape.

EmTech Mexico 2013 will bring together more than 30 national and international experts, among them Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry Mario Molina, the editor of the MIT Technology Review, Jason Pontin, the director of the Changing Places group at MIT Media Lab, Kent Larson, journalist and honorary member of the MIT Media Lab, John Hockenberry, the founder of the Scientific nanotechnology network, Tim Harper, among other experts.

EmTech Mexico will have two complementary activities of special relevance. On the one hand, the ProMéxico Investment Forum will be held, space for encouraging investment in projects with future outlook. For two hours, 20 prominent Mexican entrepreneurs previously selected will meet with national and international venture capital investors interested in their proposals.

In addition, the MIT Technology Review Innovator under 35 prizes will be given, which recognizes the work of the 10 Mexicans under 35 with the best research and innovation projects. With the collaboration of BBVA Bancomer and UNAM the second edition of this event, which drives the promotion of a community that is in contact with young entrepreneurs and the brightest technologists in the country.
