The city of Valencia is to be the host of EmTech Spain 2013 next 5th and 6th of November, Massachusetts Institute of Technology premier conference for emerging technologies. Opinno, as editor of the Spanish edition of MIT Technology Review, organizes the European edition of this prestigious event, key reference in technology publications aimed at promoting awareness about emerging technologies and to analyze their commercial, political and social implications for a third consecutive year.

As a reference of information technology, the Spanish edition of MIT Technology Review has moved the headquarters of its annual conference to Valencia thanks to a nomination based on the coordination and efficiency of a network of technical institutes, universities, industries, entrepreneurs and analysts geared towards innovation. Valencias entrepreneurial ecosystem hopes to be a “European benchmark of innovation and technology", as said by Max Buch, Minister of Economy, Industry, Employment and Tourism of the Generalitat Valenciana.

This third edition in Spain is characterized by being the event with the largest attendance of speakers from MIT. The most prominent are Israel Ruiz (Vice President and CFO of MIT) Leon Sandler (Deshpande Center Director of the School of Engineering at MIT) and Carlos Ratti (Seanseable city lab group director of MIT) among others. In turn EmTech Spain 2013 will bring together an audience of over 600 people among them are the main players of innovation.

During the event the Innovators Under 35 Spain award winners will be announced. Judges experts in innovation are currently evaluating the 120 applications received, with biomedicine, Internet and computer being the most popular sectors. The ten winners will be announced in October and the awards to the most brightest spanish entrepreneurs with the best projects with a socioeconomic impact will take place during EmTech. At the end of the conference, the 2013 EmTech Spain Investment Forum  will take place, a private meeting between entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.
