Digital Day was an event designed by Opinno for Endesa to assist the energy giant as it showcased the shape of the digital transformation to come in the sector, as well as the new paradigms of technological development that are ‘the future of the future’.

Digital Day took place on 28th January 2018 at the Endesa headquarters in Madrid and was structured into two main parts. The first was a series of enlightening lectures given by in-house experts at the cutting edge of the company’s digital transformation, in the main auditorium. The second was made up of workshops situated in the Open Power Space, an area ideally suited to the concepts of collaborative work and co-working, and therefore an ideal context for the workshops of the event.

The all-day experience covered a diverse range of topics such as blockchain and the energy sector; how to build a company with artificial intelligence; what technology and humans have in common; the future’s future: strong A.I. or Singularity and the Intelligence Explosion; and the era of superhumans through innovation and technology.

There were also a series of illuminating talks about the Endesa digital experience and state-of-the-art technological workshops on Virtual Reality, an interactive musical experience and augmented reality.

The eye-opening features of the augmented reality workshop took users on a holographic trip into the future: facial recognition software allowed attendees a glimpse at how payment for almost anything will be possible through a handheld device, and the experience will be safeguarded by the same technology.

Participants were treated to the delights of electromagnetic trains, the use of exoskeletons in medicine and drones on autopilot in the service of social needs. These were just some of the technological paradigms of the digital future available.

For music lovers there was a session provided by Andrea Almeida de Mendonca who explained how music would be shared in the future: music will be both a static and passive activity it is now with the difference that it will also be interactive.

Finally, the technological workshop ‘Hacker Maker Teacher Thief’ was a series of collaborative exercises, deeply practical in nature, which looked at how to encourage consciousness-raising creative ideas in the day to day; technological innovation as a pathway to success; and new paradigms for the entrepreneur of the future.  ‘Hacker’ is this context refers to how outmoded ways of thinking and doing can be re-energized through the creation and sharing of new ideas, passing on inspiration in the spirit of teacher or mentor and also borrowing ideas so as to create new products, services, ideas, and professionals.

Opinno was able to collate the feedback from attendees instantly through the platform it created for Endesa. The data is key to assessing how events like these will be organized in the future.
