México has established itself as a country on the cutting-edge of innovation and technology during EmTech Mexico 2104.

On the 18th and 19th of June, the Technologic Institute of Massachusetts (MIT) and Mexico were once again protagonists of the largest technological event in the world, celebrated in the Santa Fe campus of “Tecnológico de Monterrey” University.

The National Advisor of Science and Technology (CONACYT) will be supporting in what will be the second edition of EmTech Mexico, an event with an attendance of over 800 people witnessing the presentations of over 30 technology and innovation experts that, with important members of MIT, grace the stage.

The vice president and financial director at MIT, Israel Ruiz; the rector at UNAM University, José Narro; the Self-Assembly laboratory director Skylar Tibbits; the investigator at the UNAM Genomic Science Centre, Julio Collado; and Assaf Biderman, from MIT’s Senseable City laboratory attended.

The main subjects of the Mexican edition included: education via self-learning, personalized medicine, portables technology, energy innovations, synthetic biology and robotics.

EmTech combines the meeting of great investigators, businessmen, scientists, investors and entrepreneurs looking to learn and discover new ways of carrying out projects using technology that will have a social impact.

Mexico has established itself as a country not only with great talent but also able to receive, and release into the market important advances and experienced professionals.

Daniel Gómez is one example of Mexican talent and success. Daniel is the Cofounder of Solben Solutions and winner of the second edition of the ‘Under 35’s Innovators Prize’ in Mexico 2013. The ‘Under 35’s Innovators Prize’, celebrated in this edition of EmTech Mexico, will celebrate the cutting-edge of groundbreaking young innovators.

Ten winners form the list of the selected that will be presented by MIT, recognizing their hard work in various area of nanotechnology, robotics, biotechnology, software, new medicine, medical material and mechanisms.

As a final activity of the conference, there was a private meeting between entrepreneurs and investors. The EmTech Investment Forum Point Mexico 2014 will let top Mexican entrepreneurs present their projects to capital risk investors interested in meeting them. The applications are open until the 30th of May.
