Arturo Yelmo, the person in charge of SEO/SEM in the Marketing and Communication team has started the training in which our company aims to encourage learning and knowledge amongst all of its contributors.

Currently, the importance Internet has when it comes to the development of a corporation is nothing new. For this reason, Arturo’s seminar on the 23rd of May has brought us closer to the SEO and SEM’s universe, basing itself on the “Google Panda” algorithms.

According to the expert, today there are less than 200 factors as of why a website has a better or worse position. Nevertheless, it is not yet known which of these factors Google, the most important search tool in the world, takes notice of.

The SEO has to use his intuition as well as powerful tools such as Google TrendsGoogle Adwords o Google Analytics. All of these tools surround us in universe of key words and online bids for the latest search trends.

Arturo has everything clear: “we are changing into a semantic web. We have to work on a contenido that uses key words” he cornfirms, although he also admits that Google’s algorithm is an unpredictable as it is changing.

Another one of the tools that adds value to a website, improving its position, is the use of “meta-tagging”. We have become conscious of the importance of keeping titles short and concise, leads containing the key words of the article and a quality description, grabbing your attention without being yellow journalism.

On the other hand, we shouldn’t forget that Google awards quality, original and well-structured content, that allows the Google “spiders” to figure out the ins and outs of our posts to decide which ones go to top of the searches.

Arturo recommends using internal links and multimedia content – they keep the users on the website and increase the navigation time – images and urls with personalized titles and the publication of information aimed to be read on mobile devices.

Finally, the Internet has to lean on social networks, the SEO’s secret weapon. A constant and effective presence that will help the positioning of our website.
