We organized this event to gather the winners of the six European editions of the awards to strengthen the ties amongst this community of future leaders

Not all brilliant minds in the world are in Silicon Valley (USA). There are people with innovative ideas, capable of transforming our society in every corner of the globe. The Innovators Under 35 awards competition bestowed by MIT Technology Review was born from the desire to discover these promising young people. Additionally, at Opinno we aim to promote this same spirit by leading editions of these awards in 10 regions worldwide.

In 2015 alone we have successfully put on six editions of this awards competition in Europe, and in order to promote the event's recognition and innovative spirit, we have culminated the project with one final European event to gather the most brilliant, young minds on the continent. The Innovators Under 35 Summit Europe, which was celebrated last week in Brussels (Belgium), included the participation of 37 winners of the Innovators Under 35 editions celebrated in Spain, France, Belgium, Poland, Italy and Germany. Opinno organized the first four editions listed, and we coordinated with our German and Italian partners in the organization of the remaining editions.

In order to reinforce the bond amongst European Innovators, the agenda for the Innovators Under 35 Summit Europe was packed with activities and content. Given that the Innovators stand out due to their interest in resolving humanity's great problems, this event challenged them to define how technology can be used to address the issues arising from the extended life expectancy on the continent. After several team working sessions, our award winners presented their conclusions to the European Parliament.

Open education, civil participation and the creation of a management organism for healthcare related data were some of the solutions proposed by our young innovators. In the words of our CEO and the director of MIT Technology Review, Spanish Edition, Pedro Moneo, "The entire exercise revolved around innovation, technology and entrepreneurialism with the purpose of generating ideas and solutions that create an impact on the continent and the world."

Part of our success with the Innovators Under 35 Europe project stems from the support of highly prestigious entities. BNP Paribas and L´Atelier participated in the project as regional partners and Start-up Europe lent their support as a partner. Our coordinated efforts encompassed the European award winners under the same umbrella with the objective of creating an innovative community that encourages synergies and mutual support amongst the Innovators from different countries.

Europe

2015 will be remembered as the year in which we consolidated the European Innovators Under 35 project. More than 50 young people have been recognized and presented to the world for their ability to transform the world into a better place and, as our CEO puts it, "they represent the global community formed by the young leaders of tomorrow."
