Although it seems unreal, the life of an entrepreneur is one of the busiest in the world. Actually, they have a lot to do and very little time to do them. How do they manage to have a successful business? Is there a key to victory?

Many people say that the Holy Grail in entrepreneurialism consists in working hard and constantly, however, it’s true that people that achieve their goals have a daily routine, and consequently, a work routine, that lets them consolidate all aspects of their life. It’s here where their real success lies.

From Opinno, we have drawn up a list of things that most successful people do every single day.

 1.     Plan your day

Benjamin Franklin once "Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”.

However, the act of waking up at 6am doesn’t make us more productive. The key is to make the most of these early hours before the working day starts. How is this possible?

Many experts talk about the need to focus our day, starting with the very first hour of the day, establishing a timetable of the most urgent things to be done during the day in order to have a visual outlook on the day ahead.

It’s also necessary to approach the day calmly. Rushing and having coffee on the go can cause stress that will last all day. Get used to waking up early and having a good breakfast whilst you read the paper or watch the news. You will notice the difference.

2.    Exercise

They say that taking part in sport first thing on a morning is one of the greatest secrets of daily productivity. Actually, running creates endorphins, the same substance our body produces when we are, for example, in love.

Doing daily morning exercise helps us free the body and mind and makes us feel better within ourselves for the rest of the day.

3.    Start with the hardest task

Make the most of the morning when you most motivated and do the most difficult tasks of the day is one of secrets of successful individuals. It’s actually very logical: as the clock turns our mind begins to reject information, and even more with warmer climates approaching.

If you can’t resist looking out the window, it’s preferable to take a short walk to blow the cobwebs away and return to your desk rejuvenated.

4.    Rest between hours

This step is related to the previous step, based on the golden rule: being sat down for 10 hours straight is not productive. The simple gesture of sitting down to read the newspaper or having a chat with workmates can be useful in order to refresh ideas, an even come up with new ones.

5.    Talk, Ask and Listen:

Dedicate time to other people. A successful person knows how to maintain personal and working relationships, spending a few minutes talking with workmates every day.

Being a great entrepreneur doesn’t mean having all the answers. A good leader is surrounded by a team who are there to help and answer some of those important questions. Wise people ask, as well as reflect.

6.    Take some time

We’ve talked about paying attention to the people around us. This is all well and good, but we can’t forget the most important person in our lives, ourselves. Many experts suggest meditation at the end of every day: an exercise that helps us clear the mind and prepare us for the following day.

Finally, let yourself relax with a good book or film, have dinner with friends or engage yourself in a cultural activity. Having free time is as, if not more important than work. One of the biggest problems facing our generation is the fact that we are unable to disconnect from work and obligations, and even more now with the current advances in technology. Who doesn’t check their e-mail before they go to bed? Do yourself a favor and turn of your telephone, it’s not forbidden!
