Great job! Opinno and Lean Community and endorsed a great event at the European Institute of Design (IED) headquarters last Wednesday, February 26th. More than one hundred managers did not want to miss the talks of these eight A-List speakers.
The firm commitment to the Lean method as a method validation of new entrepreneurial projects in modern business was the central theme of the speeches, which managed to capture the attention of all who were present.
Darío Asante, General Manager of FDI, Antonio Fernández, CEO of Renault Consulting, and Angel Colomina, Director of Corporate Development at Opinno, opened the morning by stressing the importance of supporting the methodological approach that the lean model offers.
The need to reinvent ourselves as individuals, businesses and workers is necessary and we at Opinno are very aware of that. Thus, our Vice President of Think, Tommaso Canonici, emphasized the importance of keeping abreast the changes taking place around us and that influence technology by stating "for a company, innovating is a matter of survival."
He also classified the Open Innovation methodology, intrapreneurship and Lean method as indispensable ways to keep up with competitiveness and current globalization. "If a startup is a human organization that launches innovative products in conditions of high uncertainty, what large corporation today isn’t considered a startup?” he concluded.
Also representing Opinno, Daniel Medina, director of Strategic Consulting, stepped forth by starting with a question: "Who dares to break the rules of the company in search of innovation?” In response, he praised the role of intrapreneurs and the growing need for companies to include all employees in the innovation process if they want to gain a competitive advantage in their market.
For companies, whether large or a newly incorporated startup, it is vital to connect with innovation and make use of an open method. Augustine Moro (Wayra) spoke more about this, reviewing Telefónica’s actual commitment towards entrepreneurs; not only by funding their projects but also facilitating their use of co-working and private working spaces, technology and access to millions of clients.
Representing Repsol, Juan Luis Rodriguez explained the importance of innovation within your company, "When you pick the fruits of innovation, major advances await," he said.
"Listen to the workers, understand what is needed, define those needs and generate content with an omnichannel". These are the essential keys to success that Raúl González (BBVA) highlighted in order for a corporation to position itself as strong and agile.
Representing SolidGear, Angelica Lozano presented ' MLean', a tool designed to streamline and improve the time and cost of the lean methodology at work. She stated, "You cannot fix 21st Century problems with solutions from the 16th Century."
The CEO and co-founder of lActive, Francisco Palao, spoke about the Lean Startup methodology which is critical in improving the quality and speed of innovation. Palao said, "Big companies need to innovate more than ever because the startups and small businesses can change and industry dramatically." He also stressed how vital time is for a process and that reducing it is in the hands of entrepreneurs through the LeanMonitor tool.
Supporting creativity and innovation is the key to today's businesses which is understood by Juan Pastor, CEO and founder of Repensadores SL, who made clear his commitment to both concepts in his presentation noting that "companies must focus on both ideas; if not , there is nothing to do." Pastor insisted on the need to create a program that encourages creativity, "You can’t ask an employee to have ideas, nor can you teach them how to have them; guide them."
This was definitely a triumph for Opinno with the help of Lean Community. With this we have consolidated our firm commitment to lean methodology saving time, costs and risks when launching new, promising projects. Now, on to the next challenge!
