We organized with 3gOffice and Grupo BLC a new edition of our Luncheons. In this time, we spoke about new challenges for Human Resources management.

InnoCenters joined together entrepreneurs and human relations specialists to address the topic of employee 3.0, a new emerging reality.

In this regard, the president of Grupo BLC, Javier Cantera, spoke about the need to develop mobility and the idea of flexible work, stating that " the employee must have a new way of trust, a new form of commitment and a new partnership" with the company.

After the welcoming, our Vice President of Opinno Think, Tommaso Canonici, gave the speakers the floor; three major experts in human relations management.

Ramon del Caz, former Director of Human Resources at AXA, began the round of speeches. His business experience began in 2003, a turbulent time given that an event took place that indicated a before and after in the institution: the merger with Winterthur.

This event once again made the planning of human resources a key element, since the reorganization of the company brought a climate of uncertainty that affected its employees. Ramon worked in reducing this uncertainty by supporting a basic pillar: communication.

This new company – worker relationship is what has led many HR experts to change concepts and strategies. "The employee wants to be global and values elements that are not as relevant in other environment, such as honesty, ethics and social responsibility in the company where he/she works,"he said.

The commitment of the institutions must be a consistent approach to this new reality: "Knowing the motivators of these generations y sketching an emotional bond.”  So, together with AXA, Ramón del Caz pioneered the training plan for managers based on emotional leadership:

"The big challenge is to find professionals and anticipate the way to generate that commitment, that emotional connection, for the best talent and the greatest levels of efficiency," he said.

Meanwhile, Pedro Diaz, former Director of Human Resources and Organization at Vodafone, asked the audience about the origins of employee 3.0: Is it a sociological phenomenon or is it a reaction to certain types of stimuli that the companies themselves are generating?

His question led to a discussion on the need to innovate within the framework of labor relations. Diaz then stated that, although we are aware of this change, companies have failed to tell collaborators:

"We changed the social contract but have not spelled out what it is, or what has been left the same; now what does it mean to work in this kind of business?” stated Pedro, who later spoke of the need for an open dialogue between the two.

Finally, the Director of Corporate Transformation at BBVA, Beatriz Lara, shared with participants the experience of the financial institution which is now trying to apply a new digital environmentfor the company’s employees.

Thus, Lara has created an Intranet where employees are interconnected and can share their experiences, in addition to sharing their business interests or work motivations. "The employee 3.0 is not only handling the new digital world, but also sees the customer differently through new tools in the digital environment,” she said.

Furthermore, BBVA has chosen new work disciplines such as Design Thinking or Lean Stand Up: "When you put a post-it on the wall, the idea is no longer yours and it becomes everyone’s. It can be shared and it can be discussed," concluded Beatriz, thus summing up new challenges large companies face to improve their relationship with their employees.

The conclusion of the speeches led to the beginning of the discussion where companies such as Telefónica, Repsol or Intel were present, whose experiences put the finishing touch on a day that we can ensure was a complete success.
