The accelerated e-commerce career in Spain is partly due to the willingness of its users. 61.9% of Spanish Internet users have shopped online sometime or another. To do this, most have the confidence in banks to make payments, as 40.6% of users make payments with debit cards, followed by 29.9% that use PayPal. Bank transfers are less commun.

This data may serve as a guide so that companies correctly choose the payment method offered in their online platforms. "Customers will want to pay by means that they have already used; If a platform does not have a reliable means of payment the customer will not make the purchase," says Álvaro Martín, partner and director of International Development AFI, economic consultants who participated in the study Tecnonom.

In addition to safety, for a business to succeed in the world of e-commerce it needs to care about other aspects. Delivering the order on time is a key issue for maintaining customer trust and repeat purchases in one place online, according to a survey of Manhattan Associates. The results obtained from a sample of 1,000 people revealed that 81.7% of online shoppers say that if the delivery is not made on time they would not buy from this trade in the future.

Customers want their products on time, and the sooner the better. 86.7% of respondents opted for receiving the order the next day by express delivery, albeit more expensive. However, only 48% of Spanish electronic stores offer this service.

This express delivery can be especially important for late Christmas shopping, where online trade can play an important role. According to the study of Manhattan Associates, 88% of respondents have made at least one purchase online during the holidays, a percentage that rises to 98.7% in the estimates for 2015.
